OK so how full is too full?
Is up to the full line on the dipstick when hot too full?
Trust me guys this thing is getting more noisy than before the oil change.
In fact when setting at a light once after the oil change I could hear a loud ticking, next time I stopped at a light the loud ticking was gone.
I did the stereoscope thing and both cylinders do have about the same amount of ticking.
BTW the oil pressure looks good and has not changed since new.
dc1057 you bring up a good point as the last time i checked the oil right after a long ride i did notice some bubbles on the surface of the oil. They did dissipate quickly though.
So do you think running the oil to the full line on the dipstick when hot and on the jiffy stand is over full?
No, I run mine right to the full mark and have accidentally run it past by as much as two dots with no ill effects. I'm going to regret asking but what oil are you using just for refferance? (oh boy, here we go).
Ok, I had this problem and took it to the Dealer. Turned out it was a set of True Dual Muffler Bearings that went bad. The Dealer installed a new set and it was quiet as a mouse. I opted for the Timken Muffler Bearings. That's the way to go!!!!
the Gatling gun mufflers do have bearings......lol

Read my first post in this tread for the answer to your question.
I see it now.....LOL the muffler bearing had me all turned around so I had to go out to the garage and look for it by the time I got back I had forgotten you mentioning it. Got to admit being surprised no one got on an oil tangent.....
