Sometimes in Chicago, you can ride year round if there isn't salt on the streets. I rode every month last winter (2011) it was so mild. We also had periods of rain after snows that rinsed the salt down the sewers.
I think they are predicting a colder winter this year, and more snow, so we'll see what kind of riding we can do, or maybe not!
The toy run can run the gamut from 50-60 degrees, to below zero.....
