Glad to read this thread...I'm thinking my clutch safety switch may be on the outs.. there are times that my '03 Fat Boy simply won't engage when I hit the start button.. seems that if I fool around with the clutch, it suddenly works..I'm going to test this theory out in the AM..Thanks again..

oversize grips or lever covers can keep the switch from being depressed far enough.

sometimes when you go with chrome or aftermarket levers the tit is not made exactly right and won't depress the button far enough.

I have a 2011 UC and occasionally mine will not start in gear or out of gear. I have found if I just slightly rock backward while it is in gear while the clutch lever is out it will start as soon as I hit the start button.
