He does it on your bike free-hand.

 

IMO I say keep it very simple. I have went too far in the past and tried many unproven colors and even some stripe patterns only to be disquested and remove or paint over it. Some mistakes were my fault and others were simply did not turn out as described. Definately use somebody elses project for an example before taking the plung. I like that red with a darker red accent. Good luck with your choices!
