I have tried several types of gloves, and can't seem to find a pair that dosen't cause my hands to cramp after an hour of so of twisting the throttle. When I ride in the summer, so problems, I don't normally wear gloves in the summer(unless fingerless mesh). Any suggestions as to what is causing my pain. I rode 3 hrs today and when I got home, my hands hurt to the point that I was miserable. Have tried tight fitting and loose..so not sure what the problem is..
I hate wearing gloves, but I saw a pair of driving gloves at Target one day that looked comfortable. The brand name is Chaps, they're leather and I love them.
Try the gloves in the summer and see what happens. Of course, that's a long time away.
Are all factors equal between the summer and now, gloveless and gloved? Is this a recent problem, or does it happen every winter? Keep in mind too that your muscles are affected by the cold weather. I find I stiffen up much more quickly in cold weather riding.
The gloves you have tried: Are they actual motorcycle gloves? Most gloves made for riding are made with a natural curve. Therefor there is no effort to keep them in grip position. It also means less bunching of leather between your hand and the grip. Even better, good ones have a gel in the palm to help with vibration.
+1 on the Joe Rockets. I have a pair that are great. Also, like someone said earlier, make SURE they are long enough in the fingers. Fingertips have lots of nerves that can get irritated.
