New Throttle Cable
I have a 2001 EGUC with 45, 500 miles on it. Last weekend, my throttle cable snapped. I was at a light and able to get to the shoulder without issue. Called HOG and had a tow to Whitt's HD in Manassas in under an hour. A couple of days in the shop as the cable had to be ordered. Picked it this afternoon. I can report there is a new feel to the throttle and sveral small throttle issues have disappeared. I actually had considered getting the bike tuned due to some stumbling of the motor at about 1800 rpms. New cable, all gone. Just thought others may be experiencing something similar. Ride safe.
This is something that few people even think about until it happens to them.
I was on a run 3 years ago and a guy who was riding next to me had his throttle cable break and his was instantly sitting on the side of the road.
A little bit pf PM now can save you a lot of bucks and time when your breakdown on a trip.
I just sold my 2000 Ultra in September with nearly 80,000 miles on it and one of the things that I did to it before selling it was changing both throttle cables.
The throttle cables are almost constantly in motion and the older they get, the more the chances of a break increase.

That's good info. Kinda sucks that the dealer did not have a cable in stock. I think I will purchase both the idle and throttle cable to have when traveling. On another post someone snapped a cable and switched the idle to the throttle and got back on the road. Not sure how he set up the idle.
