I have a 06 Road King, and I am looking to replace my seat. The local dealer here suggest to try the "tallboy"seat. I'm 6'3" and if I could find a seat that gives me another inch or two would be great. I just don't want to spend big money just to try something out and find it's not suitable.
Does anyone have suggestions on replacement seats either by HD or after market?
I'm your height as well. I have replaced the bars with the heritage bars and added the Kury floor board extneders that move them out and forward. I had been thinking about the tall boy prior. Now I am pretty confortable where I am at. Just now wanting a better quality seat. Looking at the sundowner. It will probably lower me a little.
I'm 6'2" and have the Tallboy. I've got over 15,000 miles on it and love it. It is very comfortable. I added Heritage bars to give me the extra pullback I needed for the new seating position and the bike now fits me perfectly.
I think on the Tallboy for the '06s, it will move you up as well as back. On the newer bikes it only moves you back. One caution--since the seat attachment screw location is fixed, to give you the extra inches, it has to take them away from your passenger. In my case that wasn't an issue, since my wife is petite and didn't need the room. If that isn't your case, your OL might find herself a little compressed.
