Default Michelin Commander II Poor Handling!

I recently installed Michelin Commander II's on my 09 Streetglide and have had handling problems ever since! I've checked to make sure they are mounted in the right direction. I took them off and took them to a indy mech to make sure they were balanced properly and I've confirmed the air pressure is correct.

The front end is the main problem especially when driving straight on the freeway. Its like I'm riding on a slippery surface and the front tire isnt planted on the road.

Anybody else have any problems with these tires on an 09 or up Touring Bike?

(These are my 3rd set of tires. Dunlop 407/408 and Dunlop American Elites)

Throw away that Mich and put an Avon on the front. I've just finished a 3 month battle with the same problem. Seriously, the old touring chassis doesn't like the Mich on the front.

09 is a new style frame...

There is some that have experienced some effects on another thread as Jswerve has said...I have one ready to mount on the rear of my 07...I have a EIII on the front and it will stay there for a while as it has about 2 years on it (approx 25000 miles) and still has over half the tread....

So has the problem been exclusive to the newer frame? I have a set of these (front and back) on an 07 street glide and will never go back to dunlops. The tracking and traction are 100% better.

Yeah I posted up a thread about it....But my issues are only in the wet, these C II's grip awesome in the dry....But it's like riding on a snot covered tire in the rain. It's been about 2,000 miles for me since it's rained, today is a 60% shot, so I'll get to see if they are finally skuffed in at 41 PSI 3,000 miles later....ROFL

Nice to know i'm not the only person not impressed with these hunks of rubber ****!

I have the C II (18") on the rear and the Metzler ME 880 (21") on the front. I love the traction and stability on the Michelin - both wet and dry. I was going to put one on the front since the Metzler is due for replacement, but now I am beginning to wonder. The Metzler is a great front tire - smooth and stable - but only for 6K or so miles. After that it starts to cup and you get the wobble around curves. I have had a half dozen of them on the front of my various bikes, and its always the same - I got 7500 miles out of one once, but that is the exception not the rule.

You should try the Elite III on the front ...it lasts a very long time...
