Default Front suspension input

After getting some real good advise for the shocks, I'm shifting my focus to the forks. On past metric bikes, I've had nice improvement with just a Progressive spring swap but they were very easy as the fork tube bolts were wide out in the open and the springs were cheap at $60. Not so with the FLHT I've basically ruled out monotubes and am looking at a Race Tech (straight wound)/Progressive (progressive wound) springs along with either emulators or eliminaters. Never used straight wound fork springs before so not sure how they work/feel on a heavy bike? I know at my 215# I need the 1.0kg springs. Input appreciated.. Thx

this seems to be the way to go, I have the intiminators (non modded), and I am going with straight rate springs, I have progressive lowers on my ultra, and its ok, but with ny roads so bad I want to try a straight rate springs

Modded Intiminators + new springs = Monotube$$

I went with the Monotubes based on what I've read on this and other forums. Not bad mouthing other solutions. I just went with what I felt comfortable with.

90K still running the stock suspension and about 3 months ago put a HD sidecar on it. I see no need to change mine. Maybe 10 times in the 90k I bottom any of it suspension out what made them bottom out does not matter what you where riding it would bottom out.

While the cost of the Monotubes and the Intiminator setup is about the same, and the amount of work is about the same, the monotubes are a one-size-fits-all product, there is nothing tunable about them. I don't see the point in going from an OEM one-size-fits-all suspension to an aftermarket one-size-fits-all suspension, even if it is an improvement. With the Ricors it requires a very small amount of additional work to achieve a suspension tuned to the individual. Also the Ricors are the only "inertia" valve product available for the front end. So far not one person has reported anything less than exceptional results with the modified Intiminator set up. I'm happy to help anyone who wants to do it, just hit me with a PM.
