You guys are all talking luxuries. What about the compensator, are they using the SE Comp as OEM now? Is the chain adjuster still the same self tightening mechanism that runs the primary chain too tight? Did they fix the IPB problem? The cat is still in the header pipe, I suppose.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, I'd like to look at a new Limited myself. But, just curious to know what common problems got fixed in the 2013's.
The last year for the Electra Glide Standard was 2009. It had a fairing with no radio (however, it was optional) and it did not have a tour-pak.
Entry level Electra Glide is the Electra Glide Classic. Of course it has a fairing w/stereo, but with only front speakers and a tour pak, along with saddlebag rails and front bumper. Cruise control is optional, as well as ABS and security.
Electra Glide Ultra Classic is the next step up. In addition to the items on the Classic, it has rear speakers, a C.B. radio, intercom for rider/passenger communication, cruise control (standard), lower fairings. ABS and Security are optional. Also, the Ultra has tail lights on the tour-pak and the tour-pak is lined.
Electra Glide Ultra Classic "Limited" has chrome wheels, a different paint scheme; ABS, security and cruise control are all standard equipment. Tour-pak has a luggage rack on it, aluminum faced gauges, heated grips. It does not have a front bumper nor saddlebag guard rails.
I'm sure there are some minor differences that I missed among the 3, but these are the major differences.
Good write-up Oneup. On the Limited, at least in the case of my 2010, I had rubber bumpers front and back but immediately took them off and replaced them with my Vlogo bumpers. Also the gauge faces on mine are titanium colored, not aluminum. Now all of what you say may be particular to the new 2013 and they may very well be different. I'm just saying what was on my 2010 limited. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback.
I am also 5'8" and am thinking of having the shocks lowered to give me another 1" or so.
Do all of the upgrades from the Classic to the Ultra carry on to the Limited? (Other than the chrome bumpers?)
Also one-up you mention a CB? is that included or just pre set for installation if I want one?

Yup, the 2010's (the first year of the Limiteds) were a little different in that they had a front bumper and they did not come in one tone vivid black (imagine that - an H-D that doesn't come in all black:+).
Since 2011 they come in a one tone vivid black or two-tone colors. Also since 2011 they do not have front bumpers. By the way, you are right, the gauges are titanium faced since 2010.
I hope to ride in your low country some day. Ride safe.

Reason: gauges

The CB is there. My Ultra came with one headset too. As for the shocks I'm going to keep them stock and if changed stock length and get a shorter seat IF I need it.I would want to keep the travel length.
I do not know about the new ones but one thing I like about my 02 Ultra is it has more lights on the back. I have had too many friends killed by people hitting them in the back at night.

Thanks Larry;
I decided to leave the shocks alone also, don't want to worry about scraping all of that new chrome.
Ya 1 headset, 1 CB, bag liners etc.
Went with solo short seat (gives me @1" and 2 feet on the ground)
Plus I spent a few bucks to get the antenna wired into the faring so I can remove the back tour pack for city miles.
