I have only seen the one dealer quote that was linked that everyone is going off on for being $4000.
I wouldnt pay $4000 either, thats high even for a dealer but make sure you check your facts before you comment. I looked at that quote and FM's.
The dealer quote includes a SE aircleaner, race tuner and slip ons, aii of which I aready have, those are all extra costs on top of the price from FM. That would add approx another $800-$1000 to the $2000
I know FM does a great job, I am just looking for info right now.

Is the oil cooler necessary? SE catalog doesn't say that but all new 103's come with one.
Please just give me dealer averages, I'm not going to a Indy because right now HD will include the 103 kit on my extended warranty and I'm not doing it myself.I do most of my own work but I'm not doing this.
Please no slagging dealers, you may have had bad luck but I have had a really good relationship and service from my dealer.
If you have had the conversion done, was it worth it?
Why don't ya call some dealers and ask them, then you'll know..
I doubt most who answer on here are dealers.
Sound's pretty much like an exclusive dealer question to me.
Don't ya think?

I wanted to know if anyone had a dealer do it, and how much they paid.
The second part of my question, which no one has answered, was if you had the conversion done, was it worth it, are you glad you got it done?

The 107 is a great kit and will have bit more potential, but if you can get the 103 around the same cost ($2k-$2500) and keep your warranty IMO go for it. I have not done it personally, but ive ridden a few 103's (stock and converted) and you will be pleased with the upgrade. Another positive is that once your warranty runs out, you will have a mild 103 that you can squeeze more power out of with some aftermarket goodies.

I didn't have the 103" done, but I rented a couple of times with the 103 stock. I guess they don't do the St 1 on a rental, but the 103 was bland compared to the 96" with cams.

If I did it again I'd cam a 103 and call it quits. If you want you can put the SE-255 in and retain warranty. I was going to do that, til Miss 120R showed me her ___s.

Warranty-schmoranty... If it breaks, buy some more power. You can't feed an addiction without crossing some lines. "I was just gonna sniff a bag but one guy says if you're gonna sniff you might as well pop it and another guys says if you gonna pop it you might as well mainline..." Jim Carroll - Basketball Diaries.

Is there a 12 step program for power addiction?

I know that this is not any where near close to answering your question..
So w/that in mind I do not want to hijack your thread.. but have you put in cams in your 96" assuming that your bike is a 96"?

I pretty much think that w/cams I can keep up w/a stock stage 1 103 and then some. I'm sure that there will be some who will disagree though.. but I'm pretty happy w/my 96."

You may want to think about that before you go with a 103.

I had the HD Stage II upgrade to a 103 with some after market goodies as well, Monster Ovals, Jackpot header, de-cat, T-Man 555 Torgster Cams, I had some lights added and a few cosmetic things, not sure what the actual bill was for the motor work by itself, it's in my paperwork somewhere. But as for the question, "Was it worth it?" For me, it was definitely worth it. The power increase was dramatic and it just made it into a much more enjoyable ride. My last 2 bikes were BMW's and I guess I just got used to having more power on hand than the stock 96 has. I bought a used bike so I could afford to make the mod's I wanted. I'm very happy with my bike today. Well, truth be told I was happy with my stock bike, but I'm really happy now:-) If I was doing it again, I would do it again:-)

Two yrs ago, a local southern WI dealer charged me (8)hrs labor @ $60/hr +$300 tune for my 103" build. I supplied 100% parts (pistons/cams/gaskets/head work/cyl bore-hone/gaskets/etc) that I was patient in accumulating. I am happy but now I'd probably go the FM route being 110 miles away....
