I am a long time reader. I was where you are 3 weeks ago. I have nothing to gain by what I am going to post. Use it/ Don't use it.... thats up to you. But I type the truth and how I did it.

I really like the Yaffe 10 inch Apes MMB. I think they look right with the batwing.

1. DO NOT BUY the Yaffe supper size kit. It's not worth it plus they use the wrong cable.

2. Buy the SE Twist grip sensor kit from HD part number 32310-08

3. Buy the polyurethane riser isolators HD part number 56298-03

4. Buy the Yaffe 10" MMB bars

5. Buy any wire kit or make it yourself from Radio Shack.

6. Buy the 8 plus Barnett clutch cable number 101-30-10046 +8

7. Don't even think about doing this without the service manual.

Now I know many posted about moving the wires under the radio instead of making them longer. I thought about it, but decided to keep it more stock under the batwing. Next about the wires, I cut them all off about 3 inches from the plug. Than I heat wrapped them and pulled them thru. OK why, I made all my joints out side the bars, if there was a problem, I don't have to pull them all out. Also as I did not want to take a chance of crossing them while re-doing the plugs. For some, not a problem, but I did it this way. I bought the SE TBW, no I did not need it but I got it anyway. Some cut off the green and black plugs and make a connection..... Theres a lot of pulling on those wires.... Real bitch of a job. For a 100 dollars, I didn't want to risk it..just me. Also, maybe today you don't want heated grips, but down the road, you may, bring it thru just in case... . Pull the TBW thru first, than the control wires. Once done, I got wire loom 3/4 inch from auto zone and made a nice package and connected at the stock location. Change the bushings.. period !!
The brake line is long enough but move it on the other side of the 3 pack of wire at the neck closer to the fork tube. Clutch cable, Yes you have to change it.... no big deal. Yaffe send me the wrong cable. There was a change in the Barnett cables 07 to 09 then 10 up, Got this directly from Barnett after playing with it for 2 day. Some say plus 4, I like the 8, fits great and no pulling locking the bars out fully with a nice bend. you will love the bars, I do.

Again, there are many way to do it. This forum is SUPER GREAT and has help me countless times. I am posting this only to help out and repay all the help I have gotten in the past. Please if I can give you more info or help, just ask.

Enjoy and be safe JIM

I agree. I see all the time forum members post a response like "the search button is your friend." Yea, that's true BUT what worked in a thread from 2009 might not work on my 2011 model. If nobody started a new thread asking questions, what would I spend hours a day reading? Lol

My doctor told me to put them on. I have back problems, He's a rider. Only have them two days, but I can already tell they are great and will help. Its not a hard job, just take your time. As for me, I worked on it for a few hours at a time. From start to finish took me 13.15 hrs. I know the next time I could do it in less time. Messing around with the clutch cable took 2.5 hrs alone, next time I will have the right cable from the start.
