any issues i have with FM are personal and not meant for a forum. if they bothered me enough, i would talk to you about it directly. keep doin your thing, you have carved a great market and the industry needs it. i will say that you all managed to take a lot of guesswork out of building motors for the average rider. to the people out there who can read dyno sheets, your website can be a big help.
Since I was the last one to "drink the koolaide" in "the herd" before you popped off, let me state that I follow no one, and do not comment unless I absolutely know what I am speaking of. At the seasoned age of 51, I learned a long time ago that it's best to keep my mouth shut unless I do know of what I speak.

Two years ago I bought a Power Commander III from FM. It was a cheap buy as far as I was concerned - I wasn't willing to spend any more money than I did for a fuel management system on a 2005 bike. Over the two years that I had that Road King, I bugged those guys at FM FAR MORE than the sale justifed. I later added cams, then later did a big bore kit, then later did something else (can't remember now escatly what it was), and everytime I made a change the guys at FM were immediate in their willingness to provide a new map. I even called them on more than one occasion with theoretical questions that they took the time to answer.

I have something different on my Road Glide today, but that's ONLY because FM wasn't in Strugis last summer. Otherwise, they would have have had my business again. I even called them to ask before I left for the ride, and because they weren't going to be there the timing made it impossible for me to deal with them again.

I will deal with them again in the future, I'm sure of that.

I think it's presumptuous of you to assume that everyone here that praises FM is just another follower in the herd. I am anything but that, and based on my experience, I have to believe that the vast majority that does sing their praises also sings from their own experience.

Question Further Questions

I have just purchased the Dynojet Power Vision about two weeks ago and just opened and upgraded the firmware following the instructions. But I have a small item that has me concerned.

The case of the PV is Chrome plastic with a black area surrounding the screen.
I find that this black paint or powdercoat is already flaking off where you can see shine coming from under the coating. When I rubbed this area with me finger more of the coating rubbed off.

Has anyone else out there with a PV have this black coating coming off or is it just me.
I was going to mount to bars but worried it will become a problem.

I purchased and downloaded a new PV license for my limited from dynojet. Part of the download was corrupted. I called dynojet and they wanted me to ship the PV back to them. I called FM and Brian ( I think) sent me a fix and stayed on the phone with me 30 minutes till all was good. Add all the tweaking the guys have done to my maps over the years. Well worth 100.00 in my book all day long!

I installed the "Improved Stock" tune that Dynajet offered and my bike is running better than ever! No more pinging and no loss in mileage.

That's the deal I was thinking of in my earlier post! How can you go wrong??!!? You get the PV for the ~$400 you were gonna spend elsewhere and a great Stage 1 billet air cleaner you're gonna put on anyway...

I have to my 2cts ....I had an 08 dyna with FM's PCV and they finally sent me a couple of maps to get her right. Finally means after I made up my mind as to what I was looking for
( first Harley)... I then bought the auto tune to go with it from Jamie as well. I had trouble marrying the auto tune to my PCV and after much time on the phone with FM the told me to call dynojet, as I probably had a bad unit. After an hour on the phone with them, dynojet sent me a new PCV even though it was past the warranty period. Dynojet had great things to say about FM. When I get the $$ I will buy my headers and a/c and PV from FM. Thanks FM for standing behind your work and offering such great customer service! Well worth a $100.00!!!!!!!
