It comes down to the absolutely huge investment we have put into our map database and support team as well as the value we put on our calibrations and services. We simply are not willing to compromise the integrity of what we have built over the past decade making a few quick bucks selling maps, rather we offer these value added services to our customers to support the products and manufacturers we represent.
With that being said, our support line gets dozens of calls every day from customers that have bought elsewhere and we end up walking them thru loading their map or setting up something in the software. We many times send them a map or help out some other way and end up with a customer for life. All we ask is for a little patience and understanding.
That's the deal I was thinking of in my earlier post! How can you go wrong??!!? You get the PV for the ~$400 you were gonna spend elsewhere and a great Stage 1 billet air cleaner you're gonna put on anyway...
Exactly. I bought this package and installed both. Now I'm scraping up the dough for the headers and mufflers. Either 2 into 1 or 2-1-2. It'll be FM either way. Establish a dealer/customer relationship and, over time, it pays dividends for both.
As in most industries there are companies that are willing to sell a given product for near dealer cost, it brings consumers to them in hopes they purchase multiple items, many times the only incentive they have to offer is low pricing. In most cases any vendor can do this with nearly any product. I have been in the motorcycle industry since 1991 (when I dropped out of college, sorry dad) and have seen many companies come and go since that time especially those that focused their business model on absolute lowest price, several of them in recent years were sponsors on HDForums. Simply put, you cannot sell your parts at or near your cost and stay in business for the long run especially if you have a building, a staff of employee's, and other business related expenses. Pricing wise Fuel Moto offers discounted pricing on the products we carry, but as many of you know we focus more on value added service to support these products with the maps we develop and distribute, the extended warranties, and our support before and after the sale, and so on. We simply cannot specialize in tuning products and sell the products for dealer cost, we do however receive calls and emails everyday from those that have purchased elsewhere looking for maps, product support, pleading for help. Most times we are able to help out and many times gain a customer for life. The best advice I can recommend is doing your homework and choosing the product and vendor that fits best with your requirements and budget, and if Fuel Moto fits your needs you are welcome to contact us. With that being said we greatly thank all of the individuals that have support Fuel Moto over the past decade, we currently have over 50,000 users running our tuning products.
Amen Bro, $100 for great service is well worth it to me, And when others sell that item for cost they are gunna rip ya some where you can belive that..I have a 2013 ultra limited and it runs fine on the map Jamie made for me, and if I have problems I know I can get service, Not sure why someone said it was a week to get a response cuz I have never waited more than a day and phone service is no wait so it's your choice but it will be the best $100 you spent yet...BTW, I don't drink kool aid...
