Default need help, fogged visor
does anyone have a tip to prevent fogging of the helmet visor when riding in the cold

I'm assuming your talking about a FF helmet. Keep it cracked open just a hair for ventilation. Thats what I do when I snowmobile and I never have a problem with fogging. It's not cold either like you'd think. The fresh cool air coming in feels good.

Inhale in from your nose, exhale slowly from your mouth. Usually, after your breath warms your visor, fogging minimizes. My helmet came with a piece that blocks out your breath, but I never installed it.

.."Rainex" sells anti-fog liquid you just wipe on, works for a few months at a time. Check any auto parts place, or Wal Mart...

Bike shop sells small bottles of spray that work perfectly, a little spray on the inside of the visor keeps it clear.

Not sure what brand of helmet you have. I have a shoei FF and had problems during cold weather. Tried all of the above tips with some sucess. The cure for me was getting a pinloc style visor, basically a lens over a lens. No fog, and its easier to carry spare a lens. Kinda pricy though.

I have tried products from Dive shops as well as snow mobile shops that are supposed to keep the visor from fogging. The oly thing that works for me is to just keep the visor cracked open a bit.

Keep the lens slightly cracked for ventilation. My Shoie has the feature that allows for the face shield to lift and away from the face gasket however, in extreme weather that too isn't even enough in keeping the face shield clear. I crack it a bit and that usually will clear up the shield. Transitioning between cool and warm ambient temperatures while riding also fogs up my bike's windscreen.

When I bought my Shoei FF it came with an attachment that kept you from breathing on the visor. I never had any trouble with fogging.
