Well, after too much reading and watching the posts here I took the plunge today and trailered the bike to an Indy shop to have a Revolution StageI kit put on. 98CuIn, ported heads and the 37G cam set. Also installing the S&S breather valve. The folks at Revolution are great to talk to and I feel very comfortable using thier kit. The indy shop has been racing Buells forever and we spent a lot of time discussing many different routes to go. They were very cautious about overbuilding for the use I have in mind.
They will do some mild dyno runs to break in the motor and then back for the final runs after 500 miles. I'll keep folks posted on the project when there is news. The shop is busy, but they are heading to Daytona and want to finish before they leave. Not too much of a hurry - It's -10 right now and looks to be wickedly cold for a while.
I personally would not use the 37G cam. I had that cam and could not get rid of the "pinging" aka detonation with out backing out so much timing it lost power. There are better choices of cams. It is cheaper to do your homework now instead of being un-happy later. My dealer also talked me into the 37G saying it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. They make power at the cost of having to use the hard to get high octane fuel. Not a good bagger cam.
