6th speed at 60 is too low for me, it sounds like the engine is not in it's power band at all..i like to have it around 3000 rpm....

It does and you can... it also says you should use only harley oil and only harley this and that etc....My bike since i have installed cams will let me do it at 50 mph but i still think it's hard on the engine.. to each their own i guess...

41-47 mpg is my norms, but I commute everyday at 55-65 mph.

I would pull the seat and the side panels to see if there is an ECM added
Huh? wouldn't be running without the ECM. You must be talking about a piggyback tuner...

I would go to the harley dealer and have them run the VIN in the service dept. If the work was done at harley it should pop up...probably a download

Default UPDATE... Look what I found.

I pulled the map off it, and it was running the .001 map, which says stock air cleaner, and stock pipes. the bike has a big sucker on it, and it had slip on's, but I put the stock mufflers back on. Dynojet suggested I run map 003, which says vance and hines oval slip ons and screaming eagle intake. I did load that map, and the bike seems to run quite well with it, but I got a feeling I am going to see yet crappier mileage.

2010 Road King here. Pretty consistent 40-42mpg, bone stock motor.

OK, so I bought this bike used, from an auction. I have had a few small issues.... pinging under heavy load, inconsistent idle, o2 sensor code...
Just yanked the PC out, and that fixed EVERYTHING!
Bike runs 100% perfect without out, no pinging, perfect idle, no codes.
Like a brand new bike.
I bet I am gonna see some good mileage now too!

ps... Power Commander for sale LOL!
