D&D 2-1 fatcats may look pretty and produce good #'s but regardless of which baffle is chosen the exhaust note of those pipes with or without compression sound terrible..
No deep rumble at all!! My opinion only..I had a 2-1 standard baffle and i hated the sound..
Sold the fatcat and installed CFR'S.Love the sound of these pipes with V&H dresser duals on a 2013 streetglide. No tuning issues and bike runs fine and sounds awesome..
Cute post. Glad we all don't have the same ears that's for sure. Love my fatcat, love the sound, love the look, love the performance. Did you get a dyno sheet when the fatcat was on? I would love to see it versus the CFR dyno sheet...
I have the D&D boarzilla with the performance baffle in it. The boarzilla is intended for larger displacement engines. When I installed mine it went on a 96" motor with a heavy breather and a PCV. It did sound a little tinny. When I went to 107" this fall it sounds absolutely incredible. If you plan on staying stock displacement go with the FatCat. They sound real good.
CAMS CAMS CAMS
my 103 runs like a bat out of hell thanks to the SE254e (recommended by Doc) cams and the boarzilla 2:1.
"metric", have you ever heard a Honda with straight pipes, it sounds very hollow. The more that I think about it I think the bike I heard had the D&D Boarzilla not the Fat Cat Performance baffle.
I think I know what you mean. For those of you old enough, kinda like the sound an old 305 scrambler made. Personally, I loved that sound! The FatCat with the standard, or perforated, baffle is LOUD, don't make any mistake about that. Having said that, both the wife and I find it quite tolerable at highway speeds, and with a reasonable amount of throttle otherwise. But, if you like to twist the wick some, then you need to be conscious of those communities that don't appreciate it as much as you might.

The sound reminds me of a bad *** stock car or something along those lines. I get ppl asking constantly what pipe am I running. Had a guy tell me it was the baddest sounding bike he ever heard. I guess the fatcat is like the Dallas Cowboys ppl either love it or the hate it lol.

Agreed. Not a lot of 'gray area' with this exhaust. But, I didn't buy it for other people, so if they appreciate it, then that's cool. Otherwise, don't ride behind me!

This blows. I can't wait to get this puppy out on the road and really here these pipes. Both at crusin speeds and of course because I will be like a 5 year old on Christmas Morning....getting on it here and there!!
Too frickin bad it's snowing. Hopefully Puxatawny Phil or however the hell you spell it is right. lol
When i had the 2-1 fatcat standard baffle on my sg with stage 1 i noticed a good seat of the pants differance but again i didn't like the sound and still don't..I like looks and a good deep harley rumble..The CFR'S definately give me that look and sound i was looking for..I could really care less about dyno numbers.
Why anyone would want an exhaust (fatcat) that sounds like a bad *** stock car on a Harley Davidson motorcycle is beyond me.. Maybe on my John Deere tractor??
Peace and Prayers
