jdm65 what do you have for a tuner? I have a pcIII and I am wondering where to start. I had it tuned with stock cams ,true duals, samson rolled ovals and se air cleaner. wonder if I could just start with that? Did you have it dyno tuned?

How about HP and TQ with the 95 BB and the 21 cams?

howdy!...I have PC111 like you...it will do the job just fine...I had my bike dyno'd after my stage 1 was done, came in at 73 hp, and 79 TQ...if you want to know a good kit to go with, this is what I am planning to do...

98" Big Bore kits are complete kit with the highest quality components. This kit is available for 99-06 Twin Cam motor.....Transform your EPA restricted lethargic 65 horsepower Twincam into a 100+ horsepower pavement shredding beast

Our kit includes the following for absolute top level performance:

CP forged pistons 10:1 compression

Precision bored OEM cylinders ready to install with ring end gap set

Wood Knight Prowler hydraulic cam plate/oil pump upgrade which includes hydraulic cam plate, oil pump, inner/outer cam chains, cam sprockets, hydraulic chain tensioners, and all necessary hardware to bring your cam chest to 2012 specs

Wood Knight Prowler TW6-6R or TW-555-6R cams (use of TW-555-6R cams requires updated valve springs on 99-04 models)

Wood Performance Directional Lifters

Fuel Moto Quick Install Pushrods

.......this is a kit my local Indy sells for $1999.00 or $2999.00 installed

it should get 90hp and close to 100tq.....

Right on Pumba11. Love my Andrews 21 cams. They are great for TC88 baggers. Low end torque is where you need it.

It could be a wear issue but more typically it is a production issue. The spec for HD for pinion shaft runout is between 0-10 thousand. 5-7 thousand is typical. While I stand to be corrected, I believe that 0-1 thousand runout is the max you want to go for gear drive cams. This ensures that the gear mesh is consistent throughout the revolution of the cam gears. You can have the crank re-trued and weld the crank pin, which will keep it true, but this is expensive. If you are not building a tire scorcher and insist on gear drive cams, then it is not worth it. A crank swap would not necessarily solve this issue unless you are fortunate enough to get a crank with no run out, which I don't think is likely given the production spec, unless aftermarket cranks are manufactured to a much higher spec. If you are just wanting to save yourself the issue of cam tensioner shoe maintenance or replacement, use a good quality synthetic oil and you will get many tens of thousands of miles with minimal wear. I have used Amsoil for many years and have never had more than mildly scuffed the shoes, even after many miles. I recently checked the tensioners on both the primary and cam on my 08 Fatboy with 78,000 kms as I was selling her and did not want the new owner to have any issues. They were hardly scuffed and they went right back in.

I left mine at 88 and put in the 204's - woke her up a bit and I'm happy (and hubby is downright mad that it seems to accelerate faster than his '08 EG 96 - but it's not like we've raced or anything, so it could just be an illusion). Have plenty of passsing power on the highway now too.

I have a HD stage 2 (95ci) kit installed with SE slip on mufflers, and Power Commander. I removed a set of SE 203s because of wear on the cams themselves about 20,000 miles after installation.

Replaced them with S&S gear driven 510s and had it dyno-tuned. I gained heaps of horses, low to great midrange power (where you need it most) and acceleration ++, didn't seem to lose any top end and didn't impact on fuel economy.

Transformed the performance of the bike right where I wanted it. Now up around 70,000 miles and couldn't be happier with the whole set up.
