snow is bout gone , salt is gone , if the yard drys up enough so I can get the bike to the road gonna go for a ride with a few guys tomorrow , hopimg but not counting on it , yard pretty soft and not worth it to drop my bike [ again ]
Too much salt and sand around here for my liking. Also, I live on a dirt road that still has packed snow on it. It is just a tease for me to have the temps like this in Jan.
Been riding with a friend just about daily in the SW Virginia/NW NC mountains, even into WV. Sure, weather has been great. Topped 70 yesterday but the roads are still wet and tons of mud, loose gravel and just down right nasty. Clean bike gets dirty in a heartbeat. Going on a PGR mission tomorrow with a 90% chance of rain so hopefully when I get home I will just be able to wipe my bike down to get some of the grime off. Tired of washing the thing....
Sorry so many of you guys up north and out west are hunkered-down with crappy weather. But, the days are getting longer and the temps will get there for your soon.
Yesterday, we left the Myrtle Beach dealership for a HOG chapter ride to the HD shop in Charleston. This was about a 100 mile one-way ride. We had 27 bikes. Several ladies riding their own bikes. The pony tails and pig tails flopping in the wind was great to see as we went down the road.
Anyway, we arrived safely at the Charleston HD dealership (Myrtle Beach and Charleston are owned by the same guy). The HOG chapter at the Charleston dealership was fantastic. They cooked steamed oysters, grilled great hamburgers and cheese burgers, along with some juicy hot dogs. Soft drinks and water was provided along with all the sides. The parking lot was full of bikes and there was people everywhere. It was nearly 80 degrees. I was sweating eating oysters. (not complaining at all)
The ride back was just as good, with one stop for some of the smaller bikes to gas-up then on back to the Myrtle Beach area. Total mileage for me was 194 miles. We passed tons of bikes here and there. It was a great day to be on a Harley.
Rain earlier in the week washed off the salt... all the snow gone... 64 degrees and sunny... The wife and I had both the RK's out here in Indy yesterday... Perfect!!!
Rode my Ultra along Skyline Drive today. My buddy was on his Triumph. Temp was not bad but clouds / drizzle the entire way there and back. Still was great to get out … and I love a dirty bike
