I let my pecker hang out of my pants and when the tip touches I know to slow down.

Harley floorboard pans are cheap, and considered a "wear item".

If your oil, tires, and floorboards all need to be replaced at the same intervals.... you're doing it right!

That sounds about right.
As far as the "Slow Down" comments go... It really doesn't take much at all to drag em. The bike seems to corner much better than the clearance will allow.
On my previous bike (Pic Related) nothing dragged, you knew you were at the edge when the rear wheel started sliding

The first time your foot catches and gets pulled back under the saddlebags will be the last time you use your toes as feelers.

No kidding! I'd much rather hear a little scrape from time to time than shatter my ankle. On the other hand, there are some really cool canes you can get....

Try shifting your weight a little bit. You don't have to drag a knee (post pics if you do) or even slide your butt on the seat. Just shifting your upper body over will let the bike stand up more in the corners and stop the scraping (at the same speed).

Doesn't look like there's any such product for Harleys.

Not the first time this question has been asked. Check out this testament to riding the "draggin'"

All I know is the boards are a hell of a lot louder than pegs. That hollow space in there seems to amplify it.

You can try a 21" front wheel like I did, which will cut down the amount of scraping, but not eliminate it. As for dragging toes I never tried, just lean until they sing since these boards fold up, but with pegs I sometimes push my heel down lower so that drags before the peg hits.
