50k on mine and I ride down into the teens. I get it out of the shed. Riding 100 ft to the drive way. Let it idle while I go back and lock the shed. Then load the tour pack with my gear for the day. Then shut it down and let it heat soak while I eat for 10-15 minutes then drive away. No problem.
Carbed or FI I'd warm up for a minute or so lightly accelerating as idling right after start up causes the most engine wear until the oil gets circulated. Then take it easy the first 5 min. or so.
I let mine warm up long enough to get off of the 1200 rpm idle. When it works down to 1000 or 900, I'm gone. I don't blip the throttle during this warm-up period.
While assessing the the performance of the FCS, I have observed from a cold start up that it takes about 5-7 minutes for EFI to transition out of the high idle/enrichment mode, this is a ET based function that occurs at roughly 180F at the front head sensor, so this is what I call "warmed up". However, at this point the oil is no way near warm, but thats a whole nuther topic that I aint touchin'.
I don't warm up my bike, it's too loud to let idle for a min or so, I start it and take right off.. I am easy on the throttle and can ride at idle speed until it warms up enough..
Granted, it's not as cold here as other places so I don't know how this would work in colder weather.. Just turned 103k on that motor so I don't think I have damaged it with my lack of warm up time..
