Heated gloves because if it is that cold you are likely already plugged in with a heated jacket and with the gloves you can take them with you if you get a different bike. My wife has a pair of the Gerbing heated liners and loves them, I just wear the Tour Master insulated riding glove and our hands never get cold. The coldest we have rode in is 4 Celsius.

What temps are you talking about? Grips are always there and I use them in everything from the 50s with light gloves down into the teens with gauntlets. Colder than that and you'll want heated gear.

I like and won't have another bike without heated grips. The thing with grips is, you always have them. Riding back late on a cool summer night? Turn on the grips. Caught in the rain? Turn on the grips. I have gloves too (G3) and they work well but when it's really cold. 20 or so, the grips AND the gloves work well together, you're not holding on to a 20 degree piece of metal.
Honestly, the grips and mittens work as well as heated gloves.

I think the back of the hand is the big issue, assuming both gloves and grips work. That is more important for bikes (like mine) without a fairing, where your hands are out in the wind. My wife and I both have Gerbings T-5's and they are great. I've never had heated grips, but read alot on these forums about them failing. On the other hand, search Gerbings on the forums and you'll read of people that have had the same pair of gloves for decades.

H-D heated grips for what I have read, seams they tend to fail annually. I have the warranty and extended service plan to cover it for me.

Heated gloves work great, but they are a pita. Never had heated grips, so I don't know how well they work when it gets really cold.

Both...then you're set for any/all cold weather riding conditions. Problem solved - you're welcome.

I got the Gerbing battery powered heated gloves. They work great and they also work wonders while riding the shovelnor the snowblower.

Gloves for sure but if you can afford both then do so. I use both on my CVO Ultra.
