I have an 05 RK standard. I put the V&H ProPipe and Fuelpak plus a 'Ness Big Sucka on at 5,000 miles. Ran great but wife did not like the loudness or the concussions as a rider. Off they came. My buddy, with an 06 RH classic, put on the Rinehart True Duals,Terminal Velocity and a "Ness Big Sucka. Man, what a difference! Much faster and better sound. Week later I put on the same setup. Absolutely great with no remorse. We raced out to Vail from KC(around 700 miles) one Thursday and wives were happy, no problemo! Best deal is you can put it all on over a few beers on a Saturday and not have to watch dyno dollars fly out of your wallet! my .02.
I forgot about the air filter question. The dealer I go to says as long as you don't change the incoming air flow, don't worry about changing your exhaust. Changing your exhaust won't change the amout of air the factory filter will allow. I don't know if that's true or not, but I have no reason to doubt him. Now if I was going to change my exhaust, I would definately go with the SE filter and get the Stage 1 download. You can really tell the difference. But that's me, you've gotto do what you want.
So, does this mean you can change the exhaust (for me probably some type of slipon for now) without changing anything else and be ok? This won't cause a lean condition, overheating?
Not a fan of the Rineharts.
I've had them and was not impressed at all, and I didn't think the were very loud. The only time they sounded half decent was WFO, and that's what I had to pretty much do to get my heavy *** RK going with them low end power robbing Rineharts on.
I have V&H Big Shot True Duals and I love the sound of my pipes, but my wife thinks they are too loud. The slip on mufflers just didn't have the "Harley" sound that I was looking forso they only lasted about 4 months before I switched to the V&H's. The Screaming Eagle pipes would be a good alternative since they are not too loud for your passengerand still have a nice sound.
