Default RE: PC III???

What is the SERT? Is it another tuner? If so is it pretty equal to or better than the PC III? As for when I got the bike, I picked it up in December. It's an '07 RK and I haven't been told if it had any updates by the dealer.Would liketo say thank you to all for the help and patience with this newbie. Like a stated before I am new to this and want to get it right.

I have a 2006 rk custom. Had V&H big shot duals installed W/SE download and air filter. Ran like crap. Ordered A PC111 and installed myself, the bike ran 100% better

The PCIII is more user friendly than the sert in my opinion. They have a lot of canned maps for different set ups, while the sert is geared towards the SE parts and almost mandatory fora tech to tune it![:'(]I got lucky and was able to return my SERT and installed the PC in about 15 mins, loaded mapwith my laptop and i was rollin out!
Either way you go ,you'll have to pony up the bucs to get it fine tuned after your dyno run.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. I am getting that an aftermarket filter and a PCIII should be coupled with the Rinehart True Duals is the way I should go?. I already am pretty set on the Rineharts. The only issues that scare me are the fact that the warranty (engine wise anyway) will almost definately be voided. Guess you gotta pay to play huh.

i got on a trial , a pc 3 and the k&n 3909 air filter.
my gas went from 40 mpg when new prior to the recall to 46.5 mpg post recall.
now with the pc3/k&N i am at 35 to 37 mpg.

does it run better,

i honestly cannot tell. but, it does seem to run a little better than post recall and closer to what it ran like when the bike was new pre-903 recall.

and when it starts it requires 3 turns of the starter motor whereas before zero turns pre-recall it just started .peiod.

post recall 1/2 to 1 turn .

and now with pc 3 instead of starting and settling at 975 rpm it goes to 1200 rpm's for a few minutes and then it settles down to 975 or so.

it does have more vibrations coming in thru pegs and seat that did not have before .

and ,i am waiting for the black hole 2 into 1 exhaust to come in and get the pc3 tuned .

i will do this in conn. from a friend who owns a dyno tuining .

we will see

gordo24fan,

Why would your warranty be void? If there is an engine failure that is not cause by the mods you did to the bike the warranty will still be good - thats the law

PCIII is the reason for slow startup, its a problem that seems to have no correction, funny cause the V&H fuelpak or SERT do not do this, they start right up.

The start thing is something in the PCIII MAP. I have never seen it until recently, although I have read about it here. It has NEVER occurred on any of my bikes w/PCIII's.

Recently, I helped Allen.M with his build. We initially used a MAP I had from a previous build on my bike. It had ZERO starting issues... Allen got a MAP from Jamie @ Fuelmoto for comparision sake and installed it - prior to having a custom MAP created. He then had the "starting issue" that some have described.

I have not attempted to analyze it, so I don;t know what it is, but I have never had it on my bike(s).
