PCIII is the reason for slow startup, its a problem that seems to have no correction, funny cause the V&H fuelpak or SERT do not do this, they start right up.
I have NO start up issue, fires right up. My PCIII is from Jamie @ Fuelmoto.
i got mine from jaime too, but i have tosay that i do have a slower response than before when i start it...takes a good 2 to 3 turns....i figured it was just because it was a "piggy back" type tuner insteadof a reprogrammer. figured it was just processing the info and causing a little lag[sm=smiley13.gif]
I've never noticed any difference in starting mine with the factory recall or the PCIII. Its starts up quick warm or cold. I have the K&N Filter kit and suppertraps on there also. I know mine runs like a totally different bike that before. As far as gas milage goes... never checked it. I could really care less about gas milage...when it need gas I'll stop and fill it up!! I paid over 23 grand for a bike...I'm going to ride it if it gets 10 or 50 mpg.Its gotta be getting better milage than my truck does.
As far a voiding your warranty for changing that stuff....my dealer said that it wouldn't and that they didn't care whatkind of pipesor air cleanerI put on it.Like someone else said, in less than 2 hours you can have it right back stock.
I've learned to keep stock items too. Only problem is some dealerships will mark down items they see that aren't stock when you bring it in for maintenance. That really pisses me off because they really have no reason to do that other than they think you might come back later for warranty work. Either way, I want my bike to sound and ride a certain way so I will be doing the mods eventually. So, what about the Thundermax auto tune?
I find if you turn the ignition on and hit the starter right away the bike will fire right up. If I turn the ignition on, wait and then hit the button it wings over about three revolutions then starts. I read somewhere that it wasn't good to start the bike before it's done it's diagnostics, but it seems to start better with the PC-3 mounted if you do it that way. Maybe somebody in the know could tell us why some bikes with the PC start fine and others don't?
