Default Extended Warranty

My warranty is just about up on my 2011 Street Glide, was wondering who has extended theirs with HD? Any pro's or cons, am getting prices of $1300 to $2300 depending on how much time is added on, can be up to 5 yrs. Was told this does have a $50 deductible. Thanks for any info.

How many miles do you put on a year? How long are you planning to keep it?

I bought one on my 2011 SG when I bought the bike. Never used it yet. Which is a good thing. It's like motorcycle insurance hopefully you never have to use it but if you do you'll be glad you have it.

Lots of pros and cons. For me...all pros. If you put on a decent amount of miles and plan to keep the bike, I'd buy the warranty. It's an unlimited mileage warranty. Unless you're a HD tech, too much can go wrong on the new bikes that the average wrench-turner can't address cheaply IF something happens. Recognize it's more or less an insurance policy....you only need it if something goes wrong. You're going to read other people's opinions exactly opposite of mine (some rather passionate)....so be it. Think it through and decide, then be happy with your decision and keep enjoying your bike.

When I got my '07 Street Glide one year ago, it had remaining ESP. I opted to extend that ESP. I had a flywheel replaced late last year due to heavy vibrations. The ESP covered all of the bill that was just over $2100.

For me, the ESP was well worth the money and I intend to keep it on this bike and may get it on the next bike, whenever that is.

Best of luck.

My wife and I travel once or twice a year on the bike. Usually 4000 to 6000 miles a trip. I bought the extended warranty mainly for when I'm traveling. If your planning on doing long rides it's worth it, unless you have an unlimited credit card.

I guess if you buy a used bike with no coverage on it, you are just SOL buying any extended coverage. Correct? I just bought a 2009 Ultra Classic from a dealer in November with only 18,500 miles on it. I guess there are no options for me.

If you do your own mods (stage 1 kit, etc) does it void the ESP?
