I wish you nothing but the very best and a speedy recovery. Don't do anything foolish during your recovery, listen to your surgeon.

Good luck. Had mine last year. Girlfriend made me rent a hospital bed for home. Really helped sleeping and getting out of bed. Best investment you can make for comfort and speedier recovery.

One thing I can tell you is that I've been there and done that except every thing was done from the back the doc said I had to walk every where I went for six month, so ok here I went. after I got well enough He let me drive a car again but any thing on two wheels was out of the question. After I got well a 1 1/2 off of a low board was not a problem. The doctor fused together the two lower vertebraes and made me walk onced again.

I had ACL surgery last week. The doc said that maybe I could ride in 4 months. Hope all goes well with you. Keep the faith.

Best of luck to you. Going under the knife isn't fun. Had a discectomy and fusion on my neck last year.

Take care of yourself. Take it easy. Take your pain pills. Take it slow.
You'll get there.
Happy readin'.

I had mine 3 weeks ago, so far so good. my lower back pain is mostly gone but i also just got my bone stimulator the other day. hope it was my last (3rd) my abs are killing me from going through them but the pain is worth it. i was supposed to have a 360 but thankfully they were able to stabilize my spine avoiding opening my back again. i can feel that it worked this time. take it easy and walk as much as you can tolerate. that was my mistake last time, i stayed in bed or on the couch most of the time, and a bacterial infection didn't help either. my prayers are with you! get well and walk!!

6 months, I'd get a second opinion, not on the surgery, on the 6 months. Seems to be a flurry of back surgerys lately. I had mine 3 weeks ago, 1/16, with a fusion of the L,3,4,5. Before surgery he said 6 weeks. I think that is a bit optimistic since I can't raise my leg enough to swing it over the seat yet. I said yet. I am still in pain control, mainly leg pain from the femoral nerves, and mainly the left side. I only take the narcotics at bed time, and regular tylenol during the day. I learned, DON'T miss a dose. I hope to get off the narcotics soon, week or 2. Follow up is 2/22 so I'll find out what the new rules are then. As you might know already, plan A for activities after surgery are real limited. No BLT, control pain, and sleep a bunch.

Good luck with the surgery, keep is posted on the progress, there are a surprising number of your "brothers and sisters" out here.

Was at the dealer yesterday getting a part, and also looked at some new Fatboy, Switchback and couple others. No I am not getting rid of the UC limited. Salesman asked if I want to sit on them get a feel. He knows I had surgery. I declined and told them NO they were not going to pick my *** up and sit on them.
