It has been almost 2 months since surgery and I'm recovering nicely. Two spacers and human bone replacing two discs and two rods with six screws, incisions front and back. I have to wear a back brace for six months. All pre-op pain is gone. Still have pain from all the work that was done. I've cut narcotics to a third of what was needed when I got home and walking 2 miles a day for rehab.
Doc still says no riding for 6 months (August) due to vibrations hindering the fusion process. I'm going to do a Stage 1 while waiting as soon as I can stoop and bend a little better.
Best of luck and take it easy. I had what sounds to be the exact same procedure mentioned by lowrider in June 09. A combination of me not listening and Army docs making a few critical mistakes resulted in me getting cut again 2 weeks ago. The good news is I traded my 07 sporty for a backrest that has an 07 Ultra wrapped around it last week. I'm sure it will expedite the recovery. Seriously, take it easy and best of luck.
Glad to hear you're doing well. I had the same thing done in 1994 with front and back procedures. Glad to say to this day it has all been excellent. A big part of it is positive attitude.
I had 2 back surgeries in 1995, it will take 6 months to feel really good. I had to do Therapy for 9-10 months, and you may have to do some too. Just do as the doctors tell you to, as far as riding don't rush into it. Good Luck

Glad to hear things are going well. Take your time, even if it means taking the whole year off of riding.
