I don't cut people much slack that camp in the left lane and won't move. Why? Because when a marked unit gets behind them, 99% of them move over. So they are nice to the fuzz because they know they might get in trouble, but they won't afford anybody else the same courtesy. That is my opinion of it anyway. To catch one you know needs a "driving award", you have to lay back in traffic and hope they don't see you. Or, use a unmarked unit.
That's it exactly! People will actually slow down to not let you pass, but when a trooper comes along, they can't move over fast enough! Zoned out drivers in the passing lane are bad enough, but the ones who mess with you on purpose deserve their own special place in hell, IMHO.
Maybe the Police should enforce the speed limit then we would not have all these complaints. If i am doing 20 over i am already speeding so for a cop to give out a ticket for holding up traffic he should lose his job. We are all in a hurry to get no where fast.
Houston has the worst case of poking along in lanes other than the right lane I have ever seen. Not sure it is due to the very international mix or what.
150% agree. It can be a bit dangerous speeding up and then slowing down with cars behnd you but I just can't mentally ever sit next to a cage without either wanting to get in front of it or back up behind it. I DO NOT trust a single person out there regardless of AMA/Harley stickers on the window or what not.
Pick your poison of the cage idiots. Cell phone users, tv watching/internet browsing (STUPIDEST F-ING INVENTION EVER! DRIVE YOUR MORONS! QUIT PLAYING FARMVILLE!), texting, radio fiddling, kid screaming blah blah blah.... Any one of those will made you a red oil stain on the road and I refuse to sit next to any of them for 1 second longer than I have to. I sit back or hammer that f-ing throttle to get past them.
No other way IMO.

I did not expect the response this topic has gotten. It has to be assumed that everyone here drives a 4-wheeler. This seems to be a sore spot for everyone.
US Five Niner is pretty heavy at 5:30 AM, as some of us have to work, and have to be at the office before the hands get there. There are a few folks who have to run it till it blows, but there are others, like me who run the limit +5. A ticket can be the difference between employment and unemployment, at least in my company.
My intent of this thread was to get this guy to stick his head up and say something. Guess he doesn't read HD Forums.
As stated before, I have ridden quite a few years, do some simi-pro drag racing and have driven stock cars. I leave my racing on the track. I don't think I could live with the fact that I killed another scooter tramp due to my negligence.
I wasn't tailgating, or harrassing him. I just flashed my lights from 75 ft back. Yes, I passed him on the right, when he jumped on his brakes to prove some kind of point. I just would like to see bikers ride like they are on a bike, not a Peterbuilt. I've buried too many friends over the years over simple riding mistakes.
Who knows what this guys problem was/is. Maybe he's just a di*k and that's that. Can't change people, they are who they are. It is disturbing that courtesy and being nice to folks have gone by the wayside. It's all about me, me, me nowadays. I just moved to Dallas, and they'll tailgate you no matter what. I just laugh when a little bitty rice burner is on my *** in the dually, and no I'm not parked in the left lane. Around here, if you leave some distance (meaning 1-2 car lengths), they'll just cut in front of you thinking that's 'their' space. Unbelievable. There's a wreck every morning and evening on every road at the same spots. Gee, I f*cking wonder why.
No state has a claim to having the most idiot drivers. It's just the nation we've become where it's all about the individual. Now, I proudly served in the Corps, and love my country, but sometimes I just hate what we are becoming as a society. Ok, rant over.
Sorry but the left(HOV lane if that's what your talking about) in AZ is legal and where I ride because of the friggin' morons in cages that don't see bikes in the other lanes and if you want to get by me go around, I ride this lane because then I only have idiots on the right to worry about.
In AZ the HOV lane is in effect from 6-9am and 3-7pm, according to leo all other times this lane is considered the passing or "left lane"...many don't understand or care... wish it was enforced
I'm a little confused. If he was riding 5 MPH slower that the people that were there, why were the other people still there? Wouldn't they be far ahead of him and getting father ahead?
What was the speed limit? Was he going faster than people in the other lanes?
If I'm riding 10 MPH over the speed limit and you fly up on my *** flashing your lights I'd flip you the bird too.
I see you do not under stand a very simple rule.
If there is no one ahead of you, and someone behind you - move the f**k over.
It DOES NOT MATTER how fast you are going. It has nothing to do with you.
Does not matter if your in a car or on a bike.
Its called common courtesy. get over your self and let faster traffic by.
