Think I recall seeing a two tone 105 th Anniversary Inner Fairing pic posted on Batwing. might even have kept the pic for my future reference. Can take a look and maybe repost. Looked good though in two tone !
I was wondering if anyone has done the painting their self? I wonder if this can be done as a home project. Get some Colorite paint and just spray paint it your self...
There is no way you should paint it yourself. It is a tough piece to paint and if it isn't perfect it stares you in the face forever. I took mine to a second painter after the first guy orange-peeled it. If I had to do it over I'd buy one from the dealer and sell the one from the bike.
I painted mine myself. Used planet color black cherry pearl B/C and sprayed with cheap gun. Hardest part was getting all of the armor all out of the plastic.
Paul from Jacksonville did mine, and its great. He sent me a painted one, and I did the swap, then sent my stock one back to him.
I'm not a wrencher guy, and I did it myself. Took my time, there are threads on this forum detailing the steps, and some help from Paul on some tricks, for a successful upgrade.
Had an 08 anv. Ultra painted color of bike turned out great, most every ride got a comment on the look. Swaped my old inner to buddy's so they could paint theres. Ordered through dealer, color looked great. New ultra is a CVO it came matched. You will not regret going same color.
I haven't installed mine yet. But I know I would never get tired of it matching. I think it's one of the bet mods out here. I'm tired of looking at the factory inner though.
