So this morning was somewhat warm here in NNJ so I thought I'd ride the SG up to the Passaic Police Academy where I am currently taking a Crash Investigator class.
I turn the ignition to, well... ignition, flip the switch to Run (the ECM made its usual whine), hit the start button and...
...NOTHING. The directional indicators flashed back and forth in a way that indicated to me that the bike wasn't recognizing my alarm fob. The bike was in neutral so that wasn't the issue.
Needless to say, I had to drive and was as a concequence, LATE (which I DESPISE).
What could be the issue here? The battery seems fine as the lights went on, the radio worked, etc.
One good practice I keep ongoing from my old Firefighter days is to replace "all" batteries in my detectors (smoke & CO2), keypads (garage) and vehicle FOBs...this way they never fail...JMO.
yep, cr 2032 i believe is the right battery. at walmart they're in the jewelry dept, camera dept, and they're a breeze to change using a coin to open the halves of the fob. your bike reacted exactly as it should when the fob battery is dead.
