I just recently purchased a 2013 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Im looking to purchase an AMP and replace the 4 existing stock Speakers. A friend of mine recommended an ARC Audio Speaker/Amp Kit, which he installed on his Street Glide. I am looking for feed back and recommendations on any other Brands. Thanks in advance.
Tons of choices out there. There are several plug n play systems like Biketronics, Hog Tunes, Hog Wired and J&M. Or you can build a system yourself using separate components. You can spend anywhere from $500 and up to whatever your budget is. You are gonna get a ton of different opinions and most people will say what they have is the best. But your best bet is decide how much power you want and need, how many speakers you want and then go listen to speakers. Speakers are going to be the most subjective part of your audio upgrades. What sounds good to one will sound like garbage to another.
Read trough reviews o the forums. Go to local audio shops or big box stores like Best Buy, bike rallies with vendors and even bike nights and poker runs to get a feel for what everything sounds like. Remember plug n play systems are mostly designed for bikes. Many people run car audio speakers, amps and head units on their bikes.
I've ran Arc Audio system for about 4 yrs. and it's great.A friend of mine just installed a 4 channel arc audio system with HD saddle bag speakers and it KICKS ***.Loud and CLEAR
I'm not much of a fan of the "plug and play" "bike" setups but dragon fly looks good to me if that's the way ya want to go. IMHO there are better sound choices for less money in the automotive stereo aftermarket. RF/SS/JL make good amps that will fit in the fairing and Polk/Focal/Hertz are just a few popular great speakers out there. A little research and shopping will get ya a great sounding system in whatever your budget is.
If you buy an in-fairing amp, be sure it will fit atop the radio and allow you to mount your CB module, as well.
If you want a neat solution, contact Scott Ezzell who makes a nifty bracket to allow your CB module to be installed below the radio and the amp above the radio. Scott's contact info: ezzell141@comcast.net.
I run the arc ks 125.2 with the polk audio mm651. I get nothing but rave reviews from people who want to hear my system.
Me too. That little amp has held up really well for several years and 40,000+ miles. I wouldn't recommend the arc speakers though. Lots of better options out there including the Polks (which I also run).
