Hang in there! Sometimes it is best to take a little breather and take a deep breath. Come back 15 minutes later and try again.
Mine aren't FM's pipe but I had to line up the front head pipe first and had to pull on the rear head pipe, keeping the front head pipe in place, and slide it in.
Good luck, you'll get it.
Thanks guys. I just needed to leave it for awhile. Pretty sure its all lined up now. Hopefully it wont leak!
Told ya! I know cause I had to walk away more than once too.
It's all worth it in the end! Enjoy the NEW ride cause it's gonna feel like a different bike.
They can be tricky sometimes. Thought I had mine all lined up but when I went to put the crossover on, the header was against the oil pan. Had to loosen everything back up and start again.
I had exactly the same thing happen to me when I installed my Jackpot pipes. This was at the tail end of a cam change job, late at night after a long day. Could not get it to line up for the life of me, looked exactly like yours. Was at it for a couple of hours when my neighbour came over with an offer to help. Said he couldn't sleep over my cussing. That's when I knew it was time to call it a day. Went out in the morning, sat down, put the pipes to the exhaust ports and they just went right in, no fussing whatsoever. I have no explanation for what was going on the night before. Sometimes you've just got to know when to take a break and let it be. Glad it worked out for you.
