Just traded in my '04 Sportster 883XL for an '11 Electra Glide Classic. I love it!
I plan to add a rider backrest soon, and want to change the windshield but don't know which is best. I am torn between the HD Windsplitter and Klock Werks. I would love to get some input on both to help in my decision.
I think I've tried everything (maybe not everything, but I have over a dozen shields of various styles and sizes in my garage). "Standard" recurve shields are by FAR my favorite. The only shield I've ever kept on for an entire season is LRS's 9" recurve.
They have a "flare" type also -- It's the best flare-style shield I've had -- But I still prefer the recurve.
I have 2 of the LRS windshields for my ultra and another on my FLHP. I have tried ClearView, Freedom, CeeBailey, & Klockworx, Can't go wrong really with any of these. All good quality products, all good quality businesses. Just comes down to personal preference. What persuaded me to LRS in the end was their tint looked the best for what I was after.
WOW! Thanks everyone. I had no idea there were so many choices. I knew about Klock Werks, HD, Memphis Shades, and National Cycle. LRS has GREAT prices. I thought this was going to be a quick decision, but not anymore with all the options.
The one that cought my eye the most was the LRS Stealth. I HAVE to be sure of what I get, because I only get 1 time to purchase a new shield, so it HAS to be right!
Please, anyone else give your 2 cents. Lots to think about!
I tried the HD at my dealer went about 5 miles had to go back and take it off. I didn't like it at all. Still looking myself just don't want to waste time and money looking for the one that I like
I did a demo Klockwerks and couldnt get it off fast enough. I rode a CVO with a windsplitter, no good either. Cant beat an LRS. Great company, great people, great service. I own four or five in different sizes and shades
