It blows me away when people spend $15 to $20,000 on a bike then nickel and dime the one process that it most critical to the well being of the bike and their personal safety.
Are you referring to Rhinehart mufflers or a Complete True Dual Exhaustwith new head pipes. I think this is why you are getting mixed advise. Myself, Ithoughtyou meantslip ons muffers only. Basedon what the dealer told you, and the fact that you mentioned no A/C or any other mods. If you meant TD then my info is incorrect.
If you meant Rhinehart muffers only then I stand by my statement.
Deucegurl, ask your dealer's service repif the new ECM and O2 sensors that come stock on the'07 Touringbikes have the ability to auto tune the bike within limited parameters, for example the RH TD pipe upgrade that you're contemplating. Ifthe '07'sdohave a limited auto tune capability, then thatmay be the reason the sales rep is sayingyou won'tneed to tune the bike (SERT)whenchanging only the pipes. Food for thought. I don't know the answer, but would love to find out.
I agree with Gunrunner. With several years of Dyno experience including many '07 models, any changes will change fuel. Harley states if you do not change theair filter, blah, blah. Any dyno operator will tell you that you will benefit from tuning. The big thing with Rineharts is that the '07 uses narrow band 02 sensors and work on the theory of the stock head pipes are in line. If you go with true duals, fuel will be lean, temperatures will increase and performance lacks. If tuned, you will see an increase in mpg and hp. Next year when using the wide band 02 sensors things will be different.
