I am looking into purchasing a set of hard bags from an aftermarket distributor. I have found a few sets that look really good for a descent price. Here is my issue that I need help with. Can someone tell me the actual measurements of the stock hard bags? All measurements between the sites have the outside of the bag measuring 24"L x 8"W with the mounting holes measuring at 13" center to center. However, they have a few different numbers for the Height of the bag, one measure the bag without the lid at 14"H and says the overall bag is 17"H (with the lid) and another site says that the over all height with the lid is 15"H. Both site say the bags are full size bags made for touring models. Thanks for any help you can provide.
hey angel, sorry it took so long to get back to you. the demensions shown on both sites are all good except i get 11 inches deep without the lid and about 14.5 with it closed. i probably could have taken them off and gotten a better measurement. i seem to remember extra deep bags being made, or available, at one time. maybe thats where they get the 17 in. the ones offered with latches and hardware appear to be closest to stock in my opinion.
hope this helps
Riteway, I am trying to find out if those bags are the same size at those found on any of the stock touring models street glide, ultra, road glide, road king, etc
