i just go my upper fairing painted. i also added a aftermarket radio to my 08 ultra classic. didnt cut any wires am using the hawgwire kit for it. when running the wires for the amp i used a cable fish rod to run the power and some speaker wires. ( didnt remove the tank ) now that i have everything except the outter shell put back on. when i turn the power on, the gas gauge goes all the way full. and the range on the speedo goes from low to two line. ( -- ) i triple checked that all the plugs are to the right gauges and everything is tight. i have trouble shot this as much as i can. i really dont want to bit the bullet and pay HD 100 bucks a hour. is there anything else i could trouble shoot?

 

Probably nicked a few wires when using the cable fish. Id pull the tank and start searching there.

What ended up being the problem? I just removed my gas gauge completely in favor of tweeters figuring I'd use the range as my gas gauge. Now I have the dashes showing up. I know I didn't nick any wires b/c I did remove the tank to run my amp power wire. I'm about to re-install gauge and hide it inside the fairing hoping it has to do with completing a circuit. But you are still using the gauge right?
