Also, HD offers a plate mount that has a radius to match the fender, mounting is easy.
Which plate frame is that? I've been looking at the HD one that has the radius but was told it is for SG and won't fit a 12 RK. Thinking of buying it and trying it out. Any info you have is appreciated
No need for the OP to have to splice anything. His bike is a RK Classic which does not have the fender tip light. So inside the tail light housing there is an empty spade terminal. All he has to do is plug into that. I did the same thing.
I see the open spot in my service manual. It's just above the tail lamp multilock connector. Can I just get a connector for the 2 wires from a dealer? Just plug and play?

Do you see the solid blue wire right next to the plastic sheathing leading into the connector? You have to splice one of the wires from the plate bracket in to that lead, the other is ground. Call Radiantz, they will tell you which wire from the plate is hot.
I cut the plastic sheathing (with the numbers on it) along the length of the wire bundle. Peel it back, you will put it back on the bundle. Splice and solder the hot wire from the plate into that blue wire (put shrink tubing on before of course).
Then replace the plastic sheathing and wrap it in electrical tape.
