1/2 of a tube will usually suffice.

Once i cleaned the pile of grease up, that the dealer left sitting there up, it's no problem.

I put in the Lucas Red-n-Tacky. Used my standard grease gun with a flexible hose. Put in about 25 pumps. Might put some more in, but might not. The fitting is easy to get to by turning the wheel to the right. This is on my '09 RK. Unless there is a real problem, you won't notice much, if any, difference in handling or performance.

I used some Ams Oil Synthetic grease I use on snowmobiles. I hope it doesnt drip. May have to switch to something different. I put about 15 pumps and it wasnt coming out yet. 15K on the bike so I may switch and keep pumping and wiping.

Yeah me too, makes me wonder what the previous location was?

You need to keep applying grease until it squishes out both the top and bottom end of the steering head housing. If you don't, then the top and bottom bearing in the stack ain't gettin' any new grease.

So like she says....Keep pumpin' baby!

Bought the 90 degree adapter today at Napa, worked like a charm. Must have taken over half the tube before the grease started to ooze out the bottom, did what was suggested here and put some rope around the bottom bearing to slow the grease, gave her a few more pumps and it started coming out the top. Great advice.
