Default Dry Sump plug.

Can someone show me where the dry sump plug is? Has anyone switched it out for one of Cycle Solutions Racing magnetic one?

Under the cam chest, on the right side crank case...

Go to this page, input year/model and then select 'CRANKCASE & ENGINE OIL FILTER' in parts drop down. You can see it in the schematic as #1 on '99-2010 models. The 2012 models have it as #2.

Thanks. Do folks this plug out as well as one in the oil pan when doing an oil change?

I think you are referring to the pipe plug on the oil pan. The one I am asking about is the sump plug on the bottom of the engine.

Not normally pulled for oil change...

It's more like a place to check to see if the crank case is dry. There should be a small amount of oil in there, but I think it's only like 6oz or so. Any more or less, and you have a problem...

Tucci, are you sure the scavenger is supposed to use that plug? I thought they hook up to the allen head plug in the front side of the oil pan? It's more to the center of the pan, just beyond the regular magnetic drain plug.
