I would still buy it again as the low beam is really good, especially with the led spots, and that's most of my driving time. Easy enough to add long distance driving lights. This guy is local to you. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=871960

I agree and would do the lights again. The 1600 you have with the dimmer. How long have you had them and have they ever given you any grief or have they overheated? I think the 3000 are a bit of an overkill with my LED Headlight and LED spots. Mounting them to the calipers makes a lot of sense too. Still have good coverage having them that low?

As mentioned, I'm not running the dimmer. I have them wired to go on with my high beams. I've had them on my bike for probably close to a couple years now without issues. I did have a set on another bike with an HID headlight and one of those broke. Apparently the HID initial high voltage can sometimes create issues according to the vendor that I bought from (different from the ebay link I posted). A friend has been running the same lights on his FJR for a couple years without issues. These lights are not very expensive, but don't come with a warranty so...

If you don't mind spending more, you might want to check into the Dually lights offered by Rigid Industry. Lifetime warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RIGID-Indust...3b8c21&vxp=mtr

Or the Dually D2s
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rigid-Indust...9db10a&vxp=mtr

Another option, the Baja Designs S2. Small but very bright, again a lifetime warranty. Probably the best choice given the size and power, but pricey.

As far as position goes, higher would be better for lighting up tight corners but I didn't want to go with an engine guard mount initially due to glare issues off the forks and windshield, and now that I have the fairing lowers, that wouldn't be an option. They are still pretty effective where they are.

I got these light and they have a horrible RF problem and literally bleed though my radio. Did you have this problem at all?? See my post.

I can tell you that at least for Road Glides the improvement is amazing. I dig mine.

I've had the same issues as others with the LED set-up. Any real life experience with GoldWing HID units?

HID lighting is surely bright but the vibrations on a bike play hell with the control box after a period of time. Plus if you go with an HID set-up, replace the cheapo HD headlight connector with a BakLite unit from NAPA (those bulbs get mighty hot) and find a glass headlamp(E4) that will project the beam correctly and not yellow from the heat.

I started with an HID set-up, went to an E4 headlamp & 80/100W Halla bulb and now a TL Phase 7. You guys have me worried now about the cornering light capabilities at night.

MotoLights are the way to go but at their prices, not for me at the present time. Those lights on E-Bay appear to be sold out at the present time and did someone say they cause radio interference?

If you have a radio, these eBay light will not work for you. They emit horrible RF and basically cancel out your FM and Weather entirely. One high, they bleed through the CB and CD player. I have an email into the person I bought them from on eBay and we'll see what they come back with. I'm probably going to return them and go with either Custom Dynamics or Rigid Industries "Dually" but they are kinda ugly Motolights and some of the others are crazy priced for LED light. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be a cheaper solution. Didn't realize this was going to be such a hassle to just add lights.

I have a set of Clearwater lights on another bike and am very happy with them.
They are dimable and come on full brightness with the high beams.
