I was going to go that route but my indy tried to order the HY-Lift ones and couldn't get that site to work so I ended up calling Comp-cams and got the 850-1 (same as V-Thunder) ordered last week. Now I'm thinking I might try to send them back. Have you ever tried the Comp Cam 850-1. I'm not planning on using adjustable push rods so would the HyLift 2313-SE work?

Pretty sure no one recommends HD lifters. Here this story a lot lately with them.

Although I did say I had ordered the Gaterman GP1023's and that they looked superior, I haven't yet tried them so I can't give an honest opinion. It appears that other lifters all have the same design and are adjusted the same way. The Gaterman's lifters have a different design and different specs for adjustment, which I would think would mean they won't work with stock non-adjustable pushrods. Whether or not they are better and worth the cost remains to be seen. I think I will install the new 777 cams with the V-thunder lifters first, run the bike and see how it sounds and then install the Gatermans to see if there is a difference. I'll let you all know how it comes out.

interesting, I order from that site quite a bit. about 3 times in the last few months. if you ever have trouble with that site, here's the main website:

i replaced a set of comp cams once, but never put them in so i cant say from experience. any reason for not going adjustable my friend? just curious what your drawbacks are and if i can help with them.

also, the SEs are overkill for your situation (assuming that you're not using adjustable because your cam grind is same as numbers stock)

Thanks, in talking to the guy at Comp-Cams they own V-Thunder and they are the same lifters but sell them for $13.61 ea. I'm not so interested in price, just something proven to be better than HD. I have 55k miles on my originals (probable the B's) that were put in there in 07 but I didn't want to go with the HD C replacement.

My indy says no need for adjustables. His labor cost are lot less than HD. I also don't like the sounds of adjustables in case something comes loose on a trip. I know I could lear how to do it and lots are using them without any problems. Just old school I guess.

No, we plan on using the stock pushrods. I'm just trying to do some preventive maintenance by replacing the lifters, inner bearings, probable the Axel Oil by pass spring and whatever else is needed. I have the 255 cam in there.
