Is there any reason NOT to do this mod? i.e. stability?
Thinking about doing stretched bags and fender and removing the 'hoop' sure would improve the looks, but as I also do long roadtrips with a tour pac and 2-up wondered it removing the hoop could affect stability?

There are many company's that make brkts to eliminate the hoop, Baddad sells one for about 80.00 the Auto Gem shotgun's for a 140.00 and you get led's that will work as a brake light after you hook them up.
But none is cheaper than the Hacksaw and Pike nuts. You can't just remove the hoop although It connects with with Bag braces I believe or something.
It does more than just that. It connects to the chrome that runs down to hold up the bags. You can'y just remove it without replacing it with something, or hack sawing the the hoop off. My LP don't even hook to the hoop.
I realize this thread is ten years old but Im trying to eliminate this bar .seems like a lot of stuff is discontinued can anyone help me locate a set?
