I have an iPHone 5...I have installed Carlini 16" gangster apes and when I did this I ran an internal USB cable from the battery area (not connected just a USB) and the small jack that goes to my book audio through the bars. I made a small hole (after consulting with Carlini about bar integrity) and have the iPhone 5 lighting jack and the 3mm cable hanging below the bend in the upper pull back area. I have a bracket on order and will mount the phone there (left side).
What I need to do is connect the USB to a fuse and then to the battery under the seat.
Can anyone provide specific parts needed to go from the bike battery through a fuse and into a USB cable?
I have the TAPP Lite on my RK, wired properly. Tried 2 different genuine Apple Lightning cables and both give me the "Charging not supported on this accessory".
3BRpowersprots is trying to figure it out as well. I've even tried hard and soft reboots of the phone.

Thanks.
Try cleaning the terminal of the lightning where it plugs into the phone...and make sure you don't have to much power going through it.

You are going to need a 5VDC source for that USB... can't just hook it to the battery..you'll fry your phone..
I have used a number of these. They all work fine but I find they are often unreliable and break down after a couple of months. I think the USB connection interface itself is also a bit flaky. I would therefore recommend you install it in such a way that it can be changed out fairly readily
