Default Shifter Arm

Shifter arm is loose and the only thing keeping it on is the inner primary. Found it 8 days before my warranty expires. I'm going to let the dealer do it, and if it loosens again, I'll put on the BetterLever. How many out there have had repeat issues? Ride safe.

Same thing happened to me. I took it to a dealer and tightened it up, when I got home a few days later I tightened it until I thought the bolt was going to break. 8000 miles later its still tight.

Mine fell off several times. I tried a new bolt but finally had to buy a new arm. When comparing I could see the teeth on the old arm were worn smaller. Bike has 42000 miles and the arm was $21 bucks.

The arm on the transmission?
Make sure the teeth on the shaft are good because if not a new lever will get loose quick.
The Buehler better level is a neat product but the $200 price seems rather proud.

I pre-empted mine by removing it and putting a bolt and nut and tightened the bejesus out of it...it aint going nowhere:

If the stock lever wasn't usable I had a plan B lever but ended up not needing it:

Contrary to what the 'Better Lever' video claims, you can get it off if you lift the bike up to about 16-24". It's been awhile so don't ask me what size bolt. I got a grade 8 bolt big enough to go completely thru to the other side with a grade 8 washer and nut. Bastard is going nowhere!

Thanks all for feedback. I'll have to put it on my jack and see what I can see.

I took mine off and with a die grinder created a larger gap in them tightend the crap out of them. 35000 miles haven't come off YET.

My shift lever came loose a few times. The last time I was on a trip in the mountains of California. Didn't have a hammer so I used a big rock to pound in back on. When I got home I replaced the lever, still good but I might just go check it so make sure. Also the shift linkage from the lever to the transmission had to be replace at 30k'ish. Ask the dealer about it and the parts guy said I got double of what is expected.
