I am looking at purchasing a used passing lamp assembly off a 06 Ultra classic to install on 04 Roadking Custom. Not sure if it will fit, although it looks like it will fit. Nobody at the dealership can give me a striaght answer. Can anybody confirm it it will fit. Oh yeah the Roadking custom has a detachable windshield also.
The parts catalog does not say yes or no, but the front end on both bikes look similar. It is just a bar and the passing lamps with turnsignals and side attaching plates
Ok, Heres the deal.
The aux light assembly mounts onto the forks at the same two bolts on each side as the fairing on the Ultra.
These bolts go into a bracket that isattached atthe steering head.
If I remember correctly, the two accorn style nuts should be at the same position on your Bike that hold on the chrome skirt under your headlight naccelle.
The major difference will be in the wireing.
On the Ultra each light has one wire that runs into the same plug as the corrisponding turn signal for that side.
On the roadking, the two wires (one from each light) go into one plug that plugs inside the nacelle.
If when removing the lights from the ultra, it was done correctley by taking the ends of the wire out of the plug, you should just have to get a plug assembly and insert your wires.
If they were cut you will then have the choice of "hard wireing" them by solder and splice, or installing ends and a plug.
Now heres another question, with the ultra setup you will also get the turnsignals, are you going to eliminate yours, or those?
They are an integeral part of the mounting for the lights.

I was hoping to re-use the bullet style turn signals that are on the handlebars on the Roadking Custom. Can they be repositioned on the passing lamp assembly off the Ultra classic. I want to have the turn signals under the lamps. I could not find a turn signal relocation kit for the touring models.
I have the bullet style lights on my ultra mounted under the passing lamps.
But that was a kit thatI used to do so. It came with all four lamp assemblys that matched the bracket style that my lollipops came off of.
