Default Balancing tires

Ran insto a brick wall today. I got the tires mounted but not balanced. I've heard that some don't balance theirs. How critical is this? I'm running Avons and they do not have the alighnment dot like the others. If they need balanced, looks like it won't be happening until next week. [:@]

Dude, with the money you're throwing around you don't have a tire balancer in your garage yet?

It could only help to balance them.

So you think I am okay to just bolt them on? I read a thread here about balancing them at home. Basically using the axle on some jackstands and adding the weights as needed. Might try that.

Balancing wheel/tire assemblies is extremely critical. Most wheels are machined true but many tires have manufacturing variances. Does not take much to cause a noticable shimmy or wobble at highway speed...or beyond! Get them balanced by a pro with a high speed system.

Good point. I guess patience is in order here to be safe. I guess I can atleast mount the rotors and pulleys and post a few pics here for you all to see.

Get them balanced, that balance dot doesn't maen a thing.
I help a buddy of mine in the summer a little in his shop
when he gets alot of tires in to CHANGE AND BALANCE.
We have put that dot all over the tire at times to get it balanced.
It's not always the same spot for any given tire. Your tire will wear better
and longer if balanced.

I have a friend who balances by hand. Don't know exactly what he does, but he does not have a machine and has always done it like this since I have known him. He has never complained or had a problem so far as I know. I also know he is the cheapest person I have ever known. So, you make the call...He never put tires on my bike, I'll say that...
