As long as the bike you are looking at begins with "FL" like my FLHRI, you will be good to go. The real decision is whether you want tunes while you ride! I love my Road King, but if I had to do it again, I would get an Ultra Classic for the tunes...

What I am thinking right now (until I get in and test ride them) is the EG Classic and add on the ABS, Security and possibly cruise. From the HD web site comparison tool that would save me $610 over the EG Ultra Classic. Sure I wouldn't get the 4 speakers that the EG Ultra Classic has, just 2 but I don't have a passenger at this time. When I do I believe I can buy a solution if it comes to that.

I just popped for a limited. The main reason was that I wanted the ABS and security package. I also wanted the wife to ride and she won't get on a bike without a substantial seat and backrest; she won't do the butt pad route. The other features would cost a bundle to retrofit:

As I said, it's all about what you want (or don't). My EG Classic has ABS, Security, cruise and the 80 watt 4 spkr stereo. An Ultra Classic would have come with that stuff but I don't care for the ultra tour pak lights (I put a custom dynamics LED strip which I think looks much cleaner), I'm not into two tone paint and I'm not a fan of the fairing lowers. ....if you like that stuff then an Ultra Classic EG is a no brainer.

Also bought a limited. When I bought mine, the 96" motors were still in the "lesser" bikes and that was what I wanted. It all comes down to your preferences. Get it or don't... Whatever makes your ride yours and enjoyable.

I just bought a Road King Classic and added the tour pack. The leather bags don't lock but the tour pack does. I got the bike a little over a week ago and I'm really happy with it so far except for the problem everyone seems to have with the touring bikes (neutral doesnt exist). Hopefully that should improve at the 1,000 mile service. Very fun to ride though :

Have the shop reduced the amount of free play in the clutch, gets a bit easier to get in the missing neutral. My new '12 RGU was that way where the clutch was on just as the lever left the grip, had them adjust that out to a comfort zone for me(about 1/2 way to full lever range) and neutral became a lot easier to find.

I will ask them to do that. The service department also said that when the break-in oil is replaced that will also make a difference.
