Default Normal exhaust flow?

I traded my FLSTC in about 2 weeks ago on a new FLHTCU. The dealer installed Vance and Hines Oval slip-ons the day of purchase. Today I was standing behind the bike while it wasrunning to listen the sound and I put my hand close to the exhaust. I noticed that the right side had a lot more flow coming out of it than the left side did. I know there is a "crossover pipe" butis this normal? I figured that crossover would equal out flow??? I have never owned a bike where the exhuast pipes come out both sides...

With the stock headers the crossover will put more flow and sound both out the right side.

Put true duals on it and get rid of the cross over. I think it looks better and helps the bike run cooler too.

The left side exhaust pipe joins the right side pipe (exiting the rear cylinder) at a 90 degree angle. Air doesn't like to turn corners, especially if it has the option of going straight.

This is normal. The factory header is essentialy a 2:1 system. It will deliver more TQ & HP with the Ovals than a true dual system. Stick with it. At idle, if you put a handkerchief close to the left exhaust (looking from the rear), you may see the cloth sucked inward slightly due to negative pressure.
Did the dealer change the air cleaner to a high flow system?
Some dealers are taking shortcuts and doing a HD Digital Tech "race flash" along with a hi flow cleaner. This is not the correct route. You need to install an EFI mapping system..PCIII or SERT for example.

The dealer did not install a high flow air cleaner. They talked me out of thatand I dont remember why.. The only thing done to the bike was slip-ons...Is this "race flash" the same as the "download"? Does a EFI mapping system void the warranty?

Unless you live where there is smart air it just won't turn the corner to come out the left side as much.

These guys are right. Normal exhaust flow. I'd look into a download and high flow air cleaner though.
